Stress Less: Resilience for Success

Teenagers are experiencing stress at higher levels for many different reasons: school, friendships, family relationships, and extracurricular activities just to name a few. This presentation seeks to teach high school students how to identify causes of stress, develop stress management techniques, and learn mindfulness practices. Mindfulness not only reduces stress and anxiety in individuals, but leads to better school performance and overall well-being. Our goal is to teach students how to reduce stress and practice good mental health behaviors.

We will also be making stress balls to take home. The bonus is that we will be providing fun desserts for our teens … remember that desserts is stressed spelled backwards! We hope our high school teens will join us for a fun evening on Monday, December 6th at the St. John of the Cross Parish Center from 7-8 p.m.! Our speaker is coming from NAMI, and is an expert on the subject of teen stress. Grab a friend and join us for a worthwhile study break! We ask that you sign up on the sign up genius link so that we can ensure we have enough delicious desserts!

All are welcome!
