Dear St. Cletus Children,
May the peace and joy of the Risen Lord Jesus Christ be with you.
It is my hope and prayer that our weekend liturgies will have altar servers at each Mass as well as other special celebrations we have throughout the year.
I am extending to you a special invitation to consider serving at our parish as an altar server. This is something I enjoyed very much when I served as an altar server at my home parish in Peru when I was 9 years old until I was 18.
We will have an informational meeting on Saturday, June 17, 2023, at 10 a.m. in the Parish Center. The meeting will go over roles and duties in the Mass and schedule future training sessions. This is a great opportunity for those interested in serving the church by being an altar server. Your parents should attend as well.
I have asked Mr. Santos Gutierrez to assist us with this effort. After completing his formation at Mundelein Seminary, he will be ordained a permanent Deacon for the Archdiocese of Chicago on May 13, 2023. He currently serves at Mother of the Americas Parish in Chicago. He loves serving. He enjoys training current and new altar servers.
I trust that you will consider my invitation. Know that with your help each of our Masses will be more spiritual and beautiful.
