Altar Servers 2022

We would like to extend an invitation to all current 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th graders at any school to consider becoming an Altar Server at St. Cletus Parish. The ministry of Altar Server is an important ministry and part of our regular celebration of the Eucharist every weekend. In addition to serving at the table at weekend liturgies, altar servers assist at weddings and funerals as well as at other liturgical celebrations throughout the year. [Weddings and funerals are not part of the ordinary scheduling process.]

The first obligation is to attend two altar server training sessions, the first of which will provide basic information about becoming a server and a walkthrough of the mass, and the second will be a refresher of the first session and an explanation of the scheduling process. These sessions are MANDATORY, even for those students who were altar servers before the pandemic. These will be held on:

1st session:  Tuesday, May 3, from 3:30-5:00 OR Thursday, May 5, from 3:30-5:00

2nd session: Tuesday, May 10, from 3:30-5:00 OR Thursday, May 12, from 3:30-5:00

Parents are welcome at any of these sessions and especially at the second session, where the scheduling process will be explained. If you have a conflict with these training session times, please contact Ms. Norton and we will try to work out an alternative.

Please note: we are extending this ministry to high school students. You do not have to stop once you have finished the 8th grade. Service hours are available for altar serving. Just see Ms. Norton if you need a signature.
