Altar Committee

The altar committee is comprised of parishioners who perform light housekeeping tasks once or twice a month to keep St. Cletus looking its best. Tasks include, but are not limited to, light dusting of the side altars and sanctuary area, emptying wastebaskets, cleaning mirrors in bathrooms, and dry mopping of the sanctuary and sacristy.

Altar Servers

Altar Servers serve or assist the priest at the celebration of Mass. This ministry is available to boys and girls in the 6th grade and upward from both St. Cletus School and St. Cletus Religious Education program. We encourage continued participation by our young people throughout high school and beyond. Training is provided through the parish. Servers follow a schedule that closely fits their availability of time and commitment.

Art & Environment

Careful and thoughtful preparation, following liturgical guidelines, is collaborated through dedicated ministers who possess art and environment skills. They contribute to the artistic arrangement of the altar, sanctuary, and church interior during the seasons of the Church year.

Extraordinary Ministers of Communion

Mandated through the Archdiocese, these men and women are called to serve in distributing Holy Communion. Ministers follow a schedule that closely fits their availability of time and commitment.  Training and formation is provided through the parish. This ministry is available to all parishioners, including our youth.

Lectors

Proclaim the Word of God. Proper formation and training for this ministry is provided to interested candidates who are invited into a deeper experience of God through scripture. Lectors follow a schedule that closely fits their availability of time and commitment. This ministry is available to all parishioners, including our youth.

Sacristans

Sacristans are responsible for the upkeep of the church proper, especially the sacristy and sanctuary.  They oversee the maintenance of vestments for the priests and acolytes; assure that vessels for communion are stored properly and that all other church furnishings are carefully attended to.  Additionally, this group assumes the responsibility for preparing for daily mass and funerals.

Ushers

This ministry is the first encountered by parishioners when they enter the worship environment.  Ushers greet, answer questions, seat, recruit gift bearers, take up collections, and organize communion processions. Training is provided through the parish. This ministry is available to all parishioners, including our youth.

Wedding Ministry

The Wedding Ministry organizes the rehearsal night and assists the couple with last minute decisions.  We set up the church on the wedding day and try to keep everyone calm so the ceremony flows perfectly.
