ICP

What is ICP?

ICP is… a partnership of thirteen local congregations, building ministries that maximize the potential of older adults:
We are…more 115 volunteers that provide accompanied transportation to medical appointments, and life-enhancing errands such as the grocery store, hairdresser, bank, and church, as well as provide telephone calls and visitation.
We are…donors, who contribute time and funds to make all this possible.

What Does ICP Do?

We provide our services, at no cost, to enable many older adults to continue to live in their own homes. Our services include
• Personalized Accompanied Transportation
• Friendly Visitation
• Telephone Reassurance
• Workshops and Seminars on topics of interest to older adults, their families and congregations

How Does ICP make a difference?

Hear directly from some of our clients. Their words are examples of healthy aging –fostering independence and valuing individuals.
“ICP’s staff and volunteers are absolutely fantastic! We are blessed to have them!…The staff does a good job matching of volunteer with [client], and I often have the same volunteers. I have become fond of them, and they have become part of my life! One volunteer picked me up at 6:00 AM for medical tests and insisted on staying until I was finished about noon. Where else could I get someone to take me at 6:00 AM?! It was such a comfort to have somebody there, even though she shouldn’t have stayed.”

“It is the small gestures that add measurably to the enjoyment of life, especially when confined to your home as was the case with our Mom. The regular visits made by BC (the ICP Volunteer) were so important to Mom. The friendly chats with BC, the fun of seeing BC’s grandchild, the gift of time that BC shared with Mom added measurably toward enriching Mom’s life. BC’s visits are also important to our family. They play a vital role in helping keep Mom happy and secure in her own home. The generosity of ICP’s service is truly a gift of faith.”

“I don’t know how I would have gotten to the doctor’s office. My driver Jim was just so wonderful; he helped me forget my pain, from which I was in really bad shape. I was grateful.” -Evelyn
“For several years, ICP has made it possible for me to continue living in my own home. Without your help, it would have been impossible to continue my lifestyle. I am truly grateful for all the drivers taking me to my numerous medical appointments. But just as important for me are some of the social engagements that I was able to attend, plus being able to return to volunteering. The medical appointments help the body, but the social part helps my morale. With gratitude and love”
