Location

LaGrange, IL 60525
We are located in the Rectory Basement. The smaller building, just East of the Church.

What to Expect

Shopping at the St. Cletus Food Pantry means you’ll go home with 30+ pounds of fresh produce, milk, meat, bread, and quality canned and dry goods.
Doors will open at 6:00pm. Numbers will be handed out in a random order at 6:00pm. There is no reason to come early and wait in line.  Numbers are random so if you come early to be first in line you will be given a random number anyway.  Please do not arrive until the doors have open.
Once the doors open, you will head downstairs to the basement (*please read note about stairs*). There, you will take a seat until your number is called.  When it’s your turn you will come up and register or check in with a volunteer.
If it is your first visit, you will register. We will input your name, address, phone number and date of birth. We will also ask for the name and DOB for each person in the household. Since it’s your first time with us, we will give you a St. Cletus tote bag! If you’ve been before, you will just give the volunteer your name, and sign in.
Then you will be able to walk through the pantry and shop with a volunteer. We will provide a shopping cart to make it easy to choose items and walk through the space. Each area is divided by like items and signs indicate how many items you can choose in each area.  For example: 2 items from fruit, 1 cereal/oatmeal, etc.  If you have any questions about an item or trouble finding something you can ask the volunteer assisting.
We offer canned fruit, vegetables, soup, meats, meals, peanut butter and jelly, canned and dry beans, sides (mac & cheese, rice a roni, etc.), rice, pasta, canned tomatoes, cereal, etc. We also offer refrigerated and frozen items (depending on what’s available: milk, eggs, meat, etc.) and fresh produce.
Once you choose all of your items a volunteer will help carry them upstairs and out to your car.
*Stairs*: If you are unable or uncomfortable doing stairs just pull up to the curb and flag down a volunteer wearing a vest.  The volunteer will provide you with a registration form and a menu.  You’ll provide your registration information and mark down the items you are most interested in receiving. The volunteer will then serve as your proxy and go downstairs, check you in, and shop for your requested items and bring them out to your car.
Tips

  • We recommend bringing 5-7 of your own bags
  • No need to wait in line as numbers are handed out in random order
  • We recommend coming after the initial 6:30 rush so you don’t need to wait as long
