Parish Life

Book Club

The St. Cletus Book Club is intended to be both social and educational. We meet on a regular basis, generally every two months since 2009. We are a mixed age group with a common love of reading. We generally discuss current books, although we have occasionally chosen a classic or other wonderful book from the past. Meetings are held on Tuesday evenings at 7:00 pm. We welcome all interested participants. The meeting dates and books to be discussed are announced in the Canticle.

The Christian Family Movement (CFM) is comprised of couples from various faiths who meet twice monthly in members’ homes during the school year to discuss and share ideas to strengthen their marriages, family values, and faith in God. CFM is a positive way to enrich your marriage, family life, and form new friendships. New couples or groups of couples are always welcome!

Greeter Ministry

The Greeters offer a warm welcome to those entering church for our Saturday and Sunday Liturgies. Volunteers take a “Welcome” badge from the Ministers Room to wear while greeting parishioners. A sign in clip board with badges is on the bookshelf to the right of the doorway. Volunteers are asked to sign in and return the badge before the start of Mass. The time commitment is 15 minutes before the Mass they will be attending. Volunteers may greet as often or infrequently as their schedule permits. Teens, Parents, Seniors are all welcome.

Holy Name Society

The Holy Name Society is a men’s club that supports and promotes parish activities including the July 4th Veterans’ Mass, the annual Pancake Breakfast, Turkey Raffle, Baseball outing, and the St. Cletus Name Day. Our members attend the wakes, and funerals of deceased members, promote respect for the most Holy Name of God, faith in the Catholic Church, and loyalty and respect to both our civic and religious responsibilities. Our Holy Name Society began when St. Cletus Parish was established in 1951. Meetings are held in the evening on the first Friday of each month except for July and August. All men are welcome.

Women’s Council

Re-established in January of 2017, our CCW quickly became a very visible and active group. General meetings are currently held on Tuesday evenings from 7 pm to 9pm, every other month beginning in January. All women of the parish are invited to join us. You will find our hospitality warm and welcoming and the projects that we engage in worthy of your contribution of time and talents! Our Mission Statement—The St. Cletus Council of Catholic Women acts through its members to support, empower, and educate all women of the parish in spirituality, leadership, and service. The Council supports programs that respond with Gospel values to the needs of the parish and local community as well as the needs of the Church and modern society.
