A sincere THANK YOU to the dedicated volunteers who help stock our pantry shelves and make up the bags of groceries we distribute to our clients each month. Your faithfulness in making sure all goods are in-date, sorted properly, and put on the appropriate shelves to allow us to efficiently put together a balanced assortment of staples and “extras” in each bag, is greatly appreciated, especially by those we serve!
We are grateful to you, our parishioners and friends, for so faithfully adding our needs to your own grocery list or supporting the pantry with monetary donations or gift cards, because without your contributions, none of the above could be accomplished!
Food Pantry Volunteer Opportunity
The LaGrange Farmer’s Market has invited our food pantry to collect food and monetary donations during the 2nd Thursday of each month. We’re looking for volunteers to sit at a table, answer basic questions about the pantry, collect donations, and transport them back to St. Cletus. You’re welcome to mingle and explore the market while you’re there!
Potential volunteers could sign up for a one time volunteer opportunity, multiple, or all the available dates. Dates are listed below and volunteers are needed from 9:00-2:00 (start time may be flexible).

From our colleagues at the Chicago Metropolitan Battered Women’s Network:
Domestic Violence Agencies are under severe financial pressure due to the lack of a State of Illinois Budget. Many agencies will no longer be able to provide service to domestic violence victims. You can help!
Senate bill, SB 1695, provides for domestic violence services funding for FY17 only. This is a stand-alone, singular funding bill in the Senate. Recently, the Senate Appropriations Committee called SB 1695 and passed it unanimously out of committee! The bill will be placed on the roll for a second reading during this Senate session, and your calls are needed to keep it moving.
Similarly, the state House of Representatives is working hard on the state budget. There are similar bills, HB3214 and HB3259, in the House.
Please contact both your state senator and your state representative to express support for the bills. Find your state senator and state representative here: http://www.elections.il.gov/districtlocator/addressfinder.aspx
Please help keep the pressure on Springfield to ensure services for survivors of domestic violence. Thank you!
